A few years ago I found The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and decided to give it a go. I followed Marie Kondo's rule of holding each item of clothing to see if it "sparked joy" but everything felt meh. Nothing was a yes or a no and so my maybe pile just continued to grow. Until I held a dress I'd gotten during my trip to Ghana and my body lit up. This dress, custom made for me with its beautiful pink and green design, was definitely going in the yes pile. I'd finally felt what JOY felt like - it was certainty. It was a fully body feeling. And suddenly all my maybes felt like nos. This one simple dress was my Hell Yes filter. You have this filter with everything in your life - what friends feel like Hell Yes friends? What clients? Offers? Purchases? These are the no brainer yeses - or as my client said, "thoughtless, it's so right". Even if it's just one thing to start, for one of my clients her Hell Yes is taking her dogs to the dog park - that is a perfect place to start. The perfect filter to use. So in your life right now what is thoughtless, it's so right? That's a hell yes, my friend and it makes all the maybes feel like nos. Here's to creating a hell yes life, PS. Here's that dress the day after I got it in Ghana, in case you're curious. :) |

We often hear that resilience is about “bouncing back,” about gritting our teeth, pushing through, and staying strong no matter what. But here’s the reality: True resilience isn’t about how much we can endure. Resilience is about how well we can pause and let ourselves feel so we know what to prioritize and what to let go of.In fact, the most resilient leaders I know don’t just keep going when things get tough – they create space to stop, breathe, and reconnect with why they started. When...
Feeling jazzed after a connection call? Mastermind meeting? Really good podcast episode? Instead of immediately doing the thing that your brain PROBABLY tells you to do - IE. Get MORE inspiration (start on that new idea, call that friend that always energizes you, try that new complex recipe you found on Pinterest) - try this first. As a life coach once told me, pair inspiration with motivation. USE that energy you just got to knock something you've been putting off on your to-do list....
This morning I woke up, took the dogs out, then grabbed a banana and sat at my desk. I stretched and said, "hey google, play some instrumental reading music" to activate my Nest and settled into my routine of reading one chapter of the book that is currently inspiring my writing, Bird By Bird. I highlighted all the brilliant sentences that popped out at me and at the end of the chapter, I feel buzzed with ideas and inspiration. I closed the book and turned on my typewriter.
